The Village of Anmore, incorporated on December 7th, 1987, is a semi-rural residential community situated North of Port Moody in the Northeast Sector of Metro Vancouver Regional District.  The current population is approximately 1800 and has been growing steadily since incorporation.

Buntzen Lake Reservoir Recreation area operated by B.C. Hydro lies within the Village's Boundaries.  This Recreation Area attracts numerous visitors throughout the year with a number of hiking, biking and horse trails scattered throughout the park, and it is a favourite spot for picnics, swimming, canoeing and fishing.

There is an Elementary School in Anmore which also houses a preschool.  High School students attend Moody Middle School and Heritage Woods Secondary School.  The Schools are serviced by School Buses and is approximately a 20 minute drive from the Village.  A local shopping centre is located at the intersection of Heritage Mountain boulevard and Ioco Road in Port Moody and the large regional shopping centre, Coquitlam Centre, is within a fifteen minute drive.  Hospital facilities are located at Eagle Ridge Hospital on Guildford Way in Port Moody and includes 24-hour emergency service.

The Village provides minimal services to its residents such as road maintenance, water, garbage and recycling collection.  Sewer is the responsibility of the individual land owners who are required to provide septic tank disposal fields.  Electricity is supplied by B.C. Hydro, telephone by Telus, and the area is also serviced by cable vision (Shaw) and natural gas (Terasen Gas).  Fire protection is provided by the Sasamat Volunteer Fire Department (S.V.F.D) which is a Metro Vancouver function shared jointly with our neighbouring municipality, Village of Belcarra.

There are no recreational facilities owned or operated by the municipality, however, the Village boasts about the excellent services provided by volunteers of the community which includes the S.V.F.D.  Due to the number of residents who volunteer their time for community events, the Village hosts a number of events for all residents to take part and enjoy.  Some of these events include Ma Murray Heritage Day in September and a Children's Christmas Party.
